Stonefield

Stonefield - is a young Australian rock group that was founded in 2006 and to this day delights fans with its songs.  It was formed by four sisters, and at the moment they have already created four great albums in the style of rock of the 70s.

The challenge

In today's world, music is a very important aspect of our lives and each of us tries to find something new for ourselves every day.  However, the first thing people see is always a visual picture: an album cover, a poster design, or a band's merch, and it all grabs their attention and interests them.  That is why, regardless of how beautiful and melodious the music is, it is very important that the visual image of the group corresponds to it.

That's why I decided to design albums covers for Stonefield based on their style.  After all, their current design is very undefined, and it does not look harmonious.  In addition, I also decided to create a logo and merch for them, for the integrity of the picture.

The solution

Create a visually attractive and successful design for albums that will match and convey the atmosphere of the rock band's music.

Creating process

Creating a product relying on feedback, ideas and clients needs. Obtaining a final opinion.

Final

Presenting the final product and seeing how it works in real life.

The first thing I did, of course, as before any work, was to look for inspiration.  In order to create this work, I looked at many posters and albums of rock bands of the 70s, and of course I listened to Stonefield's music to better understand their vibe.  After that I created a logo that would suit them, and decided to add a small detail in the form of a women's sign to show that this is an all-female group, which is a very important aspect of their work.

But most of all, of course, I focused on album covers.  I wanted to make them interesting and detailed, so that they could draw attention to themselves, and make people want to listen to the music that hides behind these covers.

After I finished creating the artwork, I also decided to add something interesting to the vinyl, so I created a phenakistoscope which will come to life while spinning the record.  Well, after that I also started creating the merch design, also adding the details of the covers to make it recognizable and meaningful.

Final

In general, I am satisfied with the resulting design and believe that the design corresponds to the vibe of the rock band and would perfectly attract the attention of new listeners, which was the most important thing for me.  I consider this work of mine the best that I have created so far and I think it is very successful.
